‍ Why The ‘Pause’ Practice?

The Pause Practice was born from a simple but powerful idea: before you move forward, you need space to pause. For many people with ADHD, life can become a long stretch of coping, masking, pushing through, and adapting. A diagnosis can bring relief, but it can also raise new questions about who you are, what has been difficult, and what might now be possible.

The Pause Practice is your invitation to stop, take stock, and finally understand yourself with compassion rather than criticism.

A pause to understand

ADHD is not just a label; it is a lens. Pausing gives you space to explore what your diagnosis means for you: your patterns, your depths, your challenges, and your story. It is a moment to step out of survival mode and into self awareness.

A pause to reconnect

Many ADHDers lose sight of who they are beneath the coping strategies. This space helps you reconnect with your best self: the creativity, intuition, humour, intensity, and depth that may have been buried under years of trying to keep up. It is also a place to ask what your younger self once loved, imagined, or hoped for.

A pause to grow

Coaching gives you skills to practise, return to, refine, and build over time. The Pause Practice reflects that ongoing journey. It is not about perfection; it is about progress, curiosity, and learning to work with your brain now that you understand it more clearly.

A pause with purpose

For some people, The Pause Practice begins with their professional life. You may want to stay in your current role, but without the exhaustion, shame, or constant sense that work has to feel this hard. With a few subtle shifts, it may be possible to remain in that world with less discomfort, more choice, and enough energy left for the things you care about outside work. Or you may decide it is time to explore something new. I can help you with either path.

A pause of mind, body, and spirit

There is also a quiet spiritual thread woven through the name: a sense of grounding, presence, and reconnection with your deeper, authentic self. Like meditation or yoga practice, it can become a new way of living.

My logo incorporates both nature and a path. Nature inspires me because it has so much to teach us. The path reflects curiosity, options,  choices and the excitement of moving towards new adventures.
